Like many leaders in the early childhood sector, I’ve navigated seasons of overwhelm, change, responsibility, and emotional pressure.
I know what it feels like to be juggling compliance, supporting educators, nurturing families, and holding space for the needs of children all while trying to care for your own wellbeing.
Through my personal and professional experiences, I learned the power of reflective leadership, emotionally intelligent communication, and wellbeing-centred practice.
These lessons shaped my belief that strong leadership isn’t about doing more, it’s about leading with clarity, connection, and calm.

My journey into leadership and wellbeing consultancy began long before I ever called it a “career.”
It started in the everyday moments of early childhood settings supporting children, guiding educators, and holding the emotional energy of a busy service.
Like many leaders, I found myself balancing countless responsibilities: quality practices, compliance, educator wellbeing, family relationships, conflict resolution, and the deep desire to create a nurturing environment for everyone.
Over time, I began to feel the weight of the role the expectations, the emotional labour, and the ongoing pressure to stay strong for others. I supported my team wholeheartedly, but often forgot to support myself. And like so many leaders in this sector, I experienced moments of overwhelm, self-doubt, and exhaustion.
Instead of giving up, I chose to go inward.
I learned the importance of reflective practice, emotional intelligence, boundaries, and wellbeing-centred leadership. I realised that true leadership isn’t about carrying everything, it’s about creating space for others, finding clarity in the chaos, and leading with compassion and calm.
These experiences shaped not only the way I led my teams, but also the kind of consultant I am today.
